We recently received an email from a customer who was inquiring about an alternate use for our Toslink fiber optic cables. He included a link to a forum, and when we visited it, we were amazed to see such an interesting idea put into practice.
The original poster,Taky Cheung, was unable to use the remote for his video camera from behind the lens. His solution was to simply “route” the invisible light from the remote control to the front of the camera using short optical cable he had acquired from our Toslink products section . The ball ends on the cable are usually removed before use, but in this case they likely provide some benefit by dissipating the light, allowing the cable to move and still work without being permanently attached to the camera.
It is a great idea, and we hope to see more like this in the future. Let us know if you have used any of our products in a unique or interesting way.
